Job Purpose
The Agile Release Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end release management process within an Agile
development environment. This role involves coordinating, planning, and executing software releases while ensuring alignment
with Agile principles and practices. The Agile Release Manager collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to facilitate
efficient and timely delivery of software products to customers, while maintaining a high level of quality and stability.
Job Description
• Lead and manage the release management process, ensuring seamless coordination between development, testing,
and deployment teams.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Operations team, Engineering Managers, Scrum Masters, and other stakeholders to
establish release goals, priorities, and timelines.
• Plan and execute release schedules, including sprint and product increment releases, while considering
interdependencies and potential risks.
• Drive continuous improvement of release processes, tools, and documentation to enhance efficiency and
effectiveness.
• Coordinate release activities, including version control, build management, deployment, testing, and monitoring of
software applications across various environments.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Job Experience • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field;
master’s degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development and release
management, with at least 5 years in an Agile environment.
• In-depth understanding of Agile principles, Release Train, methodologies (Scrum,
Kanban), and software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Proficiency in release management tools and practices, such as version control
systems, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and
automated testing frameworks.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple
releases concurrently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with
cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to identify potential risks, issues, and areas for
improvement in the release process.
• Experience with risk management and mitigation strategies related to software
releases.
• Leadership and mentoring capabilities to guide and coach Agile teams on release
management best practices.
• Problem-solving orientation and adaptability to evolving requirements and changing
priorities.
• Awareness of cloud platforms and infrastructure, as well as deployment strategies
for cloud-based applications.
• Certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Certified Scrum Professional
(CSP), or SAFe Agilist are desirable.
Required Leadership Skills • Demonstrated ability to work well with others
• Responds effectively to multiple demands.
• Assumes responsibility for the accuracy of work processes and flow of multiple
